The Book Lover's Dilemma
Hey, Remembrall… I know it’s been a long time since we sat down and talked about our relationship, and I have a confession to make…
I’ve moved on to a new project.
I recently started The Book Lover’s Dilemma so I could motivate myself to read through my approximately 500 books. I just finished reading The Hunger Games for the first time, and I’ll be moving on to some works of non-fiction next. I promise to make them interesting!
I’ll let my introduction speak for itself:
I, like so many other book lovers, have a dilemma. I have hundreds (literally, hundreds) of books that I have yet to read because I love books so much that as soon as I feel drawn to one, I have to have it. Add this bibliophilia to a busy college schedule, and you’ve basically got my situation. The problem is that now that I am sharing a very small room with my fiance and that we aren’t making much money, I’m having a hard time finding the space to keep them. A book lover lacking in space and funds is a sad book lover indeed! (or perhaps a blisfully unaware book lover, but that’s another blog entirely, as there would be no dilemma). Currently, those books are organized into over a dozen banker’s boxes out in my parent’s shed, with an over full bookshelf in our bedroom. This hardly seems like a suitable way to keep them, don’t you think?
So, how do I justify making or keeping space for all of these books?
I’ll read them. 50 pages at a time. Until I finish them all.
I’ll post reviews and updates as I go, share why I think you should or shouldn’t bother with the book, and what I learned by reading them. You can feel free to ask me questions while I read or contribute your own reviews.
I will read through these books. Box. by. Box. And I hope you’ll be a part of it!
What say you? Shall you join me in easing The Book Lover’s Dilemma?
(Similarly, fellow blogger Laurel has her own project to read 250 books in 2012 ((Yes, two hundred and fifty freaking books)), and I think you’d all enjoy that project as well. Her introduction is over here.)

This weekend, 95 college teams will descend on New York City to compete in the fifth annual Quidditch World Cup. The sport, inspired by the Harry Potter books and movies, began in 2005 by a group Middlebury College students. The sport is played between two teams of seven players who try to score in six ring-shaped goals. (Michael J. LeBrecht II/1Deuce3 Photography)
